background, resting his arms on a set of books he wrote. The mural also
features a boxcar with two children sitting in it, as well as a gray

"This mural will inspire thousands
of young adults to discover the writings of John Steinbeck and begin
to explore their own creative and artistic talents,'" said Joseph
Werner, executive director of, the county Workforce Investment Board,
which organizes the mural projects.
